We Have Returned to In Person Services!

Here is an update on our in person service schedule. As of today, Sunday Dec. 13, 2020, we have returned to in person services here at VBC. Service times will be Sunday morning at 8:30am and 10:30am, Sunday evening at 6pm and Wednesday at 7pm. We will be having Jr. Church during the 10:30am service on Sundays and Kids' Klub on Wednesday evening at 7pm.

If you are sick or unable to make it to church, services are available on our Facebook and YouTube channels as well as the Dial A Sermon phone system.

As it is the time of year where we can experience inclement weather, don't forget to stay tuned the website News tab, our Facebook page, and look for emails to keep you up to date on changes to service times and schedules.

Special Announcement: Online Giving Now Available

Special Announcement About Our New Online Giving Option From Pastor Myers:

Dear Victory Church Family,

We are happy to announce a new feature on the Victory Baptist Church website. Starting today April 6, 2020 you will be able to give your tithes and offerings to our church through the new "Online Giving" option. This is a feature that some folks have been suggesting and asking about for some time and we have been carefully researching. During this time where we are unable to meet regularly at church more and more people have been inquiring about it and we feel it is a good time to implement it.

Giving online is easy. Just visit our website- VictoryChurchHanover.org and click on the "Online Giving" link at the top center of the page. From there you will be redirected to the ChurchTrac online giving page. The first time you give you will need to create an login (subsequent visits will require you to log in) and once you have completed that step you will go to the giving page where you can enter your giving information.

Things to know about our online giving:

1. It is not required- you can still mail in or drop off your tithes and offerings if you so wish. This is just another option for those who would like to take advantage of it.

2. Giving is processed through a secure third party- while we take steps to make sure our website is up to date with the most secure protocol features, the transactions will be processed by a company that specializes in these types of transactions so you can feel confident and secure using this new function

3. You will receive credit for your giving on your end of the year giving statement- All giving done online will go into your giving statement just as if it had been given in a regular offering.

4. You will only be able to give to the general fund at this time- Since this is a new feature for us we are limiting giving to the general tithes and offerings. If you would like to give to the Retire the Debt, Missions, or other specific categories you will need to mail in or drop off those donations to the church.

5. There is a fee to the church for online giving but not to you- There are certain fees associated with online giving that we must pay per transaction (a small percentage of each transaction). These will not be charged to you and you will receive credit for your entire gift on your giving statement. However, please consider giving a little extra to help with those fees if you can.

I am excited about this new giving option and during this time my family and I plan to utilize it.

Update on the Revival Scheduled for April 5-8, 2020

Due to the continued restrictions and recommendations concerning gatherings for large groups of people cause by the spread of COVID-19, we have made the decision after much thought and prayer to cancel our revival services scheduled for April 5-8-, 2020.
Please be in prayer for the end of this pandemic and for our nation at this time. God will bring us through this.

Remember that God can send revival through our time of personal Bible study and payer just as quickly as he can through a series of services. Make time to study God's word and ask him to send revival in your heart and to your family. Then the fires of revival can spread to your church, your city, your state, and the nation.

Official Statement from Pastor Myers – COVID-19

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Let me start by saying, I am not afraid but I am concerned. I trust God and believe his power gives strength to overcome. The verse also tells me I have a sound mind. This means, I have power to discern and make wise decisions. Because I love our church families and this ministry, I have to make some wise decisions. I met with several of our men today and we prayed together and came to the conclusion to close the church from ALL public services, meetings and activities until Thursday, March 26th and re-evaluate our actions at that time. These two weeks will give time to see where this virus goes. We will live stream our services via FaceBook and YouTube; you can find these linked to our website at VictoryChurchHanover.org

This decision has been made with a heavy heart and much prayer. Some of the factors in this decision include; our President thought it serious enough to declare a national emergency. Our Governor closed all schools and limited access to government building. We have 33 cases of the virus in our state at this time. We have several folks in our church who are fighting cancer as well as others who struggle with very low immune systems and are highly susceptible to sickness. Research is showing this virus can live upwards of two weeks in a person without them even knowing it. The carrier may have little to no symptoms, and may not see much of a problem. In this time, they could unknowingly pass the virus to someone more vulnerable, who may react in a more serious manner.

We can restrict handshaking and physical contact, but not all will follow these guidelines. It is also virtually impossible, in a public building not to touch the same items and pass the germ. Also, with this being an airborne virus, it is really hard not to breathe the same air in a public setting. I also consider the heightened alert of people attending a public service. Once someone begins coughing or sneezing in a room, now the attention of many will be diverted away from the preaching. Distraction will be a major issue; this is something you just cannot contain. I do not make this decision hastily, because other churches have closed, nor am I a victim of the media panic. I am not in a mode of panic, but precaution at this time. My first desire is the safety of our families and guests.

We will work hard to clean and re-clean our facilities; taking every step to ensure the cleanliness of our campus. We will pray for God to heal this virus and protect our families. We will act in a calm and orderly manner until the storm passes. The church must continue to pay its bills, so I ask all of our families to join me in mailing your weekly tithes and offerings to the church address. I understand that some will agree with this position, while others will not; but I ask that you respect it and please stay positive and prayerful.

Join us at VBC on Sunday, October 30th in the 10:30am service for our old fashion, Harvest Day Celebration. Bring your friends and family for Christ-centered preaching, Old-fashion music, annual chili cook-off, pie making contest and Fall Games for everyone to enjoy. Hay throwing, punkin’ chunkin’, three leg & sack races, along with our famous Turkey Bowling are a few games we will enjoy this day. Many will be dress up in 1800′s old fashion clothing, so don’t be alarmed if you think you walked onto the set of ”Little House on the Prairie” Cost is free, you may bring a side dish or drinks if you like.
